PenPals

I am loving the PenPals group that Kayla Messineo started. 

I have met a really nice girl, named Kirsten.  I already knew Shannon, but we are becoming closer, and I'm hoping to become friends with another girl named Amber. 

CF is a tough disease and the only people who know what I'm going through are other CFers. I'm so happy that Kayla came up with this group.

Another Plan Down The Drain

I was supposed to go to my friend Kendra's house til sometime Friday, now it's not happening because she has something going on with her Sinuses and her husband John has a sore throat, and she doesn't want me to catch anything. So now we are going to try for next week.   

Last Saturday (the 12th) my friend Chelsea was supposed to come to my birthday party and then we were going to have a sleepover, but she got Bronchitis.  

My friend Heidi was planning on coming up to visit in July and we would have finally gotten to meet for the first time in person, but the train station said she called to late to make accommodations.  I was thinking to myself, that's still like a month away.  She also said there isn't any other train stations that she could use. 

All my plans I was so excited for this summer are not happening. It sucks, I know at some point Chelsea and I are going to have our sleepover, but still, its just like I know at some point I'll go to Kendra's fora few days.

But it is frustrating to have all these plans then have everything fail, and its all washed down the drain.

I really hope that things all come together in the end, and that most of my plans for the summer happen.

Stomach Bug

So I don't know what was going on yesterday, but I wasn't feeling good during the day, then last night before bed, I started getting a really bad stomach ache. It kept me up just about the whole night. It was awful, I had the sweats going, I was hunched over in pain. At one point I thought I was going to throw up and I don't throw up. 

I got up this morning at 5, like I always do when Jerry works during the week, and woke him up. I decided that I was just going to go back to bed, I would do my Acapella when I got up. 

I woke up around 11 am. I felt better but not great, have a headache. I even took a nap later on in the afternoon. 

Hoping I will sleep better tonight and feel all better tomorrow.

Luckily I was able to get some of the cleaning done.

Acapella

I finally got my new Acapella the other day, I used it for the first time last night. It has so much more power, it pushes a lot stronger vibration into my lungs than my old one.
I coughed up a lot of mucus. I thought at one point I was going to throw up from how hard I was coughing.
Everyone tells me how surprised and proud they were that I finally made the decision to become a little more independent. I don't blame them, I used to be very determined to not change how things went.
But now that I am, it's making Jerry's life easier and also my life easier. I'm now able to go and spend time with my friends and sleep over their houses.
Just like next week, I'm spending three days at my friend Kendra's house with her two daughters, Leah and Rachel. It's very exciting, it'll be my very first time away from home where I don't need someone there to do my Chest PT, it'll just be me. I've never been able to experience that, now I can.
I'm hoping to post a video at some point of me using my new Acapella. Jerry said he would video tape me using it, so that everyone can see how it works. I mention the Acapella to people, and some CFers have never heard of it. That surprised me. I thought everyone would have known about it.  It's similar to the Flutter, you do the same breathing techniques, but it looks a little like the AeroChamber that you would put your inhalers into. Hopefully I can get that video up soon.

My Title

So, my first entry, on my first blog.
The first thing I must say is THANK YOU to my good friend Lezly Hodge for giving me the title for my blog, she came up with it. Which I know, makes me sound completely unimaginative because I couldn't come up with my own title, and yes I must agree. I thought for weeks about what to make my title, finally I asked my CF friends on Facebook, and luckily Lezly came along with such a brilliant idea.
